Job Title:Operations Specialist I – Performance Analyst/Report Writer 07-028
Location: San Diego, CA

Job Description: To provide accurate performance related data and portfolio analysis throughout the organization and to external clients. Primary responsibilities include the calculation and verification of portfolio performance, attribution and performance composites. In addition, report writing and SQL query to assist the team with department initiatives. Work in tandem with technology to develop and maintain client statement templates, in addition performance attribution and composite reporting. Other responsibilities include the generation of various client reports and ad-hoc analyses.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Reporting Services resource within Performance Measurement by designing and building reports to meet business and client needs
  • Develop new templates and maintain existing templates within the client reporting application based on Performance Measurement requirements and in line with technology specifications
  • Use the NACM standard development methodology to ensure code base is reliable and traceable
  • Write SQL queries to obtain data for various analyses
  • Clearly communicate department requirements across Performance Measurement and Technology peers, escalate issues and concerns appropriately to manager
  • Utilize various data sources to produce periodic performance reports for Investments, Client Service and Marketing
  • Construct and maintain performance composites in accordance with AIMR-PPS\GIPS
  • Maintain the integrity of performance related data in various databases
  • Address performance data inquires from internal and external clients; including performance variances
  • Identify and report performance dispersion on a monthly basis

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field, CFA, MBA desirable

  • Ability to achieve Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) credential within 2 years.

Job Title: Analyst 07-021 & 07-046
Location: San Diego, CA

Job Description: The primary role of the position will be a key contributor to Systematic investment team.

Responsibilities:
  • Research and implement improvements to all phases of the investment process – return forecasting, portfolio construction, and trading.
  • Work closely with other members of the team to manage International, Global, and Domestic portfolios.
  • Help maintain research infrastructure and model production.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline. MS, PhD or CFA preferred.
  • At least 3 years of hands on experience developing and implementing quantitative stock selection models at an investment management firm.
  • Familiarity with academic and practitioner accounting/finance literature.
  • Proficiency in SAS, Perl, and shell scripting in a Unix environment.
  • Experience with financial databases such as IBES/First Call, Worldscope, Compustat, and Datastream. Prior experience with MarketQA preferred.
  • Experience with Bloomberg and FactSet.


Job Title: Client Service Associate II 07-045
Location: New York, NY

Job Description: Support assigned Client Service Officer(s) on significant institutional relationships. Extensive high level communication with clients, their consultants, and custodian banks managing inquiries and responding to requests. Manage processes such as new account funding, transitions, etc. Assume responsibility to produce client presentations, deliver and oversee monthly and quarterly client deliverables, respond to ad hoc requests and communicate with all divisions of the firm including portfolio managers, operations, and legal/compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Support client service officers on all aspects of client and consultant relationships.
  • Serve as internal advocate for clients to ensure their needs are being met.
  • Solve client problems.
  • Work with other members of client service, sales and marketing group to leverage resources and enhance the quality of client service delivery.
  • Work effectively with portfolio management, operations, legal/compliance, and senior management in the context of meeting client needs.
  • Interact with the clients’ field consultants as required. Coordinate with consultant relations officers.
  • Maintain a thorough and current understanding of NACM organizationally and its philosophy, processes, and strategies.
  • Maintain current and comprehensive knowledge of the financial markets and industry trends.
  • Develop successful working relationships with senior management, portfolio management, sales, consultant relations, legal, operations, compliance, etc.
  • Participate in and host client meetings and conference calls.
  • Prepare presentations for prospects, clients and consultants.
  • Provide timely internal communication of client activities, as well as management reporting and accurate accounting of activities.

Qualifications:
  • MBA (or in process), CFA (or in process), or related industry experience with investment management clients, consultants or investment managers.

  • Working knowledge of institutional investment issues, including markets, indexes, asset allocation, manager structure, consultant relationships, performance evaluation and attribution.
  • 5+ years industry experience; direct client experience highly desirable.
  • Proactive, flexible, accountable. Ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Must be able to spend 1 week per quarter in San Diego


Job Title: Analyst Req: 07-034
Location: San Diego, CA

Job Description: Research new purchase ideas consistent with firm’s growth approach to investing and monitor existing holdings. Focus to be on European equities.

Responsibilities:
  • Make investment recommendations to Portfolio Managers based on accurate and current market information;
  • Verify and clarify reported earnings information with Brokers, Analysts and other Portfolio Managers in other firms;
  • Review and evaluate buy/sell ideas;
  • Prioritize buy/sell suggestions for Portfolio Managers;
  • Scan research reports and report essential information;
  • Maintain and enhance network of relationships with Brokers, Analysts and other Portfolio Managers in the industry;
  • Read and report on relevant information from media, financial information, and in- house system for reported earnings;
  • Various quantitative research projects.
  • Travel abroad for research purposes
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
